Overclock championStrengths: Most overclockable and stable proc I've ever owned. 3.6ghz w/out a single prob. I could prolly go higher. Idle @ 45 Weakness: None so far. See below Some say "socket 775 mobos are buggy". I'm using an eVGA NForce 680 SLI and have experienced nothing but ease and stability. Core 2 Duo E6600 2.40Ghz, Socket LGA775Strengths: 4MB cache and lightening-fast dual core processor Weakness: None This is a very fast processor. It compliments the new ASUS P5B Wi-Fi Deluxe motherboard that I bought for it. No installation problems. I am very happy with it.

Fast & coolStrengths: Overclockable, fast, low power consumption. Quiet HSF. Weakness: Not as overclockable as engineering samples shown in tech websites. I got this because it was the least expensive of the core 2 duos with twice the cache as the E6300 or E6400. I was lucky to find it in stock about a month ago (though it shouldn't be difficult to find now). The reviews I read on Anand tech lead me to believe that I would be able to overclock it to about 3.4GHz; however, the best I was able to do (with a good overclocking M/B) was 3GHz. I suppose...

Best processor on EarthStrengths: Powerful, fast, efficient, decent O/C abilities, great value when you compare it to the competition. Weakness: Runs hotter than I'd like. This thing is blazin' fast. It's fun to have the top-of-the-line new products for one time in my life. The only thing better than this is the Core 2 Extreme and the other Duo that's clocked faster but for a couple hundred extra bucks (not worth it). This processor is the absolute best price/performance ratio out there. With stock processor heatsink/fan and my several case fans, it idles around 36...

Runs Hot, is pricey, but great BuyStrengths: Best value of the Core 2 Duo E series, 4mb L2 cache and a 2.40 ghz operating frequency Weakness: Runs quite hot with the stock Heatsink/fan, idles in the mid-50s (Celsius) and when playing a game, America's Army for example, it jumps to high 60s. Overall, I can't complain about this processor, it is faster than anything that I have ever owned, and it will do whatever I want it to. It can be overclocked a little bit, however, I would recommend extra fans and a 3rd party heatsink if you want to go all out on the OCing. However, it really isnt even necessary to OC, as this thing'll be able to crush anything you throw at it (if you have the...

Fast, Stable, Runs cool, Great buy!Strengths: Runs very fast, all programs seem to be executing alot faster then my old Pentium 4. System is very stable, no freezes or hang ups. Not to mention it runs cool around 35-40C idle. Weakness: None so far, only thing is the high price because of the low supply and high demand, but the prices seems to have gone done a lot since August. The processor was great installed quickly, and I was able to overclock from 2.4GHz to 3.0Ghz, at stock settings, without the need to increase any voltages. Just increased the FSB from 266MHz to 333Mhz and thats all. It is well capable of going faster, but I just haven't got to it yet. It is running fine for me at 3.0Ghz.

The CPU that whopped AMD's behind!!!Strengths: Faster than anything AMD, dual-core, 64-bit, SSSE3 capabilities, runs at 800mhz DDR2, awesome benchmarks Weakness: A bit pricey (but it's worth it) I had this E6600 for about 2 months now, and all I can say is this thing is great! Farcry runs at max settings as smooth as butter. The dual-core capabilities are also very nice - especially with multi-threaded applications. Sadly there isn't too many games right now using multi-threading, but that's going to increase in the future for sure. This kicks AMDs FX-60 better than anything else and at...

Core 2 Duo E6600 Dual Core Processor (2.4GHz, 4MB,...Strengths: Excellent to Overclock Weakness: None This is a beast of infinite propotions. I am at present running it at 1386 FSB and getting it up to 3.117 Mhz. Look as if it would reach 3.4 easy. It is consistent and very stable at this range. I am running it on a Asus P5WS workstation, and a pair of Corsair twin 256 (1GB0) 5400UL Memory. Unbelievable.

Intel Core 2 Duo Family review
All four Core 2 Duo processors we are testing today operate using a 1066MHz Front Side Bus (266MHz Quad Pumped). The E6700 is the flagship model running at 2.66GHz and featuring a 4MB L2 Cache. Then there is the Core 2 Duo E6600, which operates at 2.40GHz, also with a 4MB L2 Cache, probably making the best value/performance option of the entire Core 2 Duo series. Top

Intel Core 2 Duo & Core Extreme Processors, Chipsets And Performance Analysis
In every benchmark we ran, both of the Core 2 processors we tested outperformed the Athlon 64 FX-62 and Athlon 64 5000+, and they handily outpaced the Pentium Extreme Edition 965 as well. The Core 2 Duo E6700 and Core 2 Extreme X6800 put up some of the fastest benchmark scores we have seen to date. Clock-for-Clock, the Core 2 Duo E6700 and Core 2 Extreme X6800 are faster than any other desktop... TopAdvertisement

Best solution for Core 2 Duo... Period.
Strengths: Incredible speed, amazing multi-tasking, makes Vista fly, great gaming processor, apparently very over-clocking friendly
Weakness: If only we could all afford Core 2 Extremes...
Out of the box this processor is, in one word, flawless. Intel is the crowned champion of processor engineering. After moving from an Athlon64 3000+ with 2GB of PC3200 DDR RAM to this processor with 2GB of PC6400 DDR2 RAM, I'm completely spoiled. Imagine with me, running 2 different programs converting WMA and M4A files into MP3s at the same time with very little performance drop, while ripping...
