Excellent processor!

Strengths: powerful, offortable.

I upgraded from 3800+ to 5000+. This is awesome processor. Handles multimedia tasks very well. I like AMD line of product. They are equally powerful and more affordable comparing to Intel processors.

Good cheap processor

Strengths: reasonable price, fast , good compatible motherboard is cheap

Weakness: lower cache compared to X2 5200

got it for cheap with free ecs motherboard. Is fast out of box. Easy installation, stock fan is pretty good. However when overclocked, conroe E6600 smokes it. However if you buy intel, compatible good motherboards are expensive. Spend $20 more and buy X2 5200 instead if you are looking for cheap fast system

AMD X2 Athlon 64 5000+ AM2 Socket

Strengths: very fast, lightning speed, wont need to upgrade in a long time

Weakness: cheap cpu fan included

I've never had a CPU as fast as this one. My computer can zip around and open programs like Adobe Photoshop and Doom 3 in a flash, no joke!

Amd 64 X2 5000+

Strengths: Speed, clocked at 2.60GHz stock..wow! I over clocked it to 3.00 with no probs.

Weakness: None

Price of this processor should be about $700 and Directron had it for $359. When I saw that price, I bought it on the spot. GREAT DEAL! I will be shopping here again...and using pricegrabber to find the best sites always.

Athlon 64 X2 5000+

Strengths: Would be a good buy if sold at AMD price.

Weakness: For this price...Core 2 Duo E6700!!!

These cpu's should be selling for just over $300. www.amd.com/us-en/Corp... Why are the merchants over pricing??? Don't buy at these crazy prices!! More power per dollar with Intel at this price.

THE best CPU for the money!

Strengths: Extremely fast, dual core, cheap price, hardcore performance, and the AMD brand!

Weakness: None that I've encountered so far. Very good and stable though I haven't tried over clocking yet.

Very good price for the POWER you get from this baby. Put this in your system, and you'll be ready for gaming, video editing, music recording, or anything else with this CPU's BLAZING speed! Highly recommended!

Best Bang for the Buck

Strengths: Cool, quiet, easy install of the stock H/F. And most of all, it's fast. Compared with the much more expensive E6400, this CPU gets almost the same performance and cost's 1/2 the price.

Weakness: If you're into overcloaking, the E4300 has more potential.

Even with the 89W Windsor Core this processor runs very cool. Mine idles at 35C and overloads at 50C with stock H/F. There's a lot of room to overclock this up to the FX-64. Also, if you're debating between Intel vs. AMD, the motherboards for AM2 CPU are much cheaper and should be compatible with the new Phenom coming out. While everyone raves about Core Duo, AMD CPUs are still best bang for...

Great Value. Runs cool.

Strengths: 65W 65nm 3yr warranty decent HS/fan Easy install

Weakness: Fan could be quieter

I have installed many different CPUs and this dual-core AMD is one of the easiest. It easily clips right in to the socket AM2 with a nice rotating lever. Couldn't be much easier. Runs smooth and cool. I have used both the stock fan and the Zalman. The stock fan is not as quiet but does a pretty good job of cooling. (Not OCed)
