The greatest QUAD-FX motherboard, the Asus L1N64-SLI...
Strengths: Customizable and adjustable bios for memory and processor, like other ASUS boards. Plenty of onboard fan connectors and SATA ports. Vista 64 bit with 4 gb of ram runs very stable.
Weakness: The board does get a little warm, ~100 F. Does not include firewire or serial header in the box. There are no other QUAD FX boards available at this time.
Overall, considering that there are no other quad-fx motherboards available, I would still recommend this board as a platform. There are more than enough SATA ports to run as either as a serious workstation or gaming rig. There is limited spacing between the PCI-express slots so with 2 8800s, you will not be able to utilize all of the slots. The onboard audio is adequete, until a PCI-express...
