ABIT Desktop Motherboard - VIA K8T800 Pro Chipset -...

Strengths: Runs smooth straight out of the box. Included uGuru software is great to help overclocking. Digital POST code readout is very helpful for figuring out problems, if any.

Weakness: Can't be overclocked as much as other boards in it's class.

The Abit AV8 motherboard is one of the best motherboards available. With 4 slots to accomodate up to 3gb of RAM, a silent passively cooled chipset, and included uGuru software, this AV8 is a stable motherboard. The locations for the floppy and hard drives were perfectly placed for my setup. It was also equiped with ample audio inputs and outputs as well as four usb ports and a firewire...

ABIT Desktop Motherboard - VIA K8T800 Pro Chipset -...

Strengths: Very nice layout and great overclocking features.

Weakness: IDE1 and IDE2 seem to be switched compared to other motherboards.

The is a very nice motherboard and I'm a big fan of Abit anyway. This board features the IDE ports turned at a 90 degree angel so that the lay flat. The floppy port is still the same. The only problem or complaint I found with this board is that the IDE ports seems to be switched compared to other boards. What I mean by this is that most board in a tower style case will stand on its side. Thus...

ABIT Desktop Motherboard - VIA K8T800 Pro Chipset -...

Strengths: Ease of setup, overclocking features, Ease of bios updates

Weakness: Must choose between front or rear panel for sound output. Can't do both w/o additional sound card

This board is the best! The drivers load easily and everything works! The processor is spaced well in the layout leaving enough room for even a Zalmann 7700 cooler! The only problem I had was that it the 3500+ processor was overheating upon installation. My computer would shutdown@! However, this was not the fault of the board. The company that I purchased this from was supposed to have loaded...

ABIT Desktop Motherboard - VIA K8T800 Pro Chipset -...

Strengths: I like the lay out very easy to fallow manual. It has nive addons.

Weakness: I had problems saving my setting's due to old BIOS. Once I caught onto the problem I went to Abit's website and got lastest up dates.

Very easy board for first timer on a computer build. The only down side is floppy connection on bottom of mobo witch I didn't use, and audio connections are in a bad place if you gonna use most of your PCI slots.

ABIT Desktop Motherboard - VIA K8T800 Pro Chipset -...

Strengths: :: flawless Dual DDR. :: 2 digit LED display for POST diagnostics and other status information :: 2 single LEDs ( green and blue ) for power connected and power on status indication.

Weakness: IDE port positioning is not easy to get at once MB is in the case, but it isnt a huge problem.

Good looking MB with LED display for POST diagnostics and nice blue power on LED on MB, good for view-in cases. Detected Corsair VTK400 3200 Dual DDR flawlesly. Very good over clocking support. Has ample amount of fan power outs, I connected 4 fans to it, in addition to the CPU fan. Has ample amount of USB 2.0 ports and extra connectors, more than you will ever use. I highly recommend this board....

Great Features, Excellent Value, Best Longevity

Strengths: Best value option for an AGP board, Athlon64/dual-core/FX procs, SATA and EIDE, dual-channel DDR, extensive BIOS for overclocking.

Weakness: Make sure you won't want a PCI-Express slot for a while.

The Socket 939 makes this a very versatile board. I bought a cheaper AMD Athlon64 3200+, but later I could easily replace it with the more expensive Dual Core processor or FX processor, increasing performance dramatically. Consequently, the longevity of this board is amazing. -------------- The VIA K8T800 Pro chipset is one of the best performing, and dual channel DDR support can really leverage...

ABIT Desktop Motherboard - VIA K8T800 Pro Chipset -...

Strengths: Great customization software, great BIOS, and a reliable motherboard.

Weakness: The USB headers are positioned so they could possibly get in the way of a PCI card, and I'm not quite sure about those right-angled IDE ports, but other than that it's great.

About a month ago I built my new PC with this motherboard and an Athlon 64 3500+ and it seems to work great. The uGuru software that comes with the motherboard is fantastic, you can overclock easily and monitor all your fan speeds, temperatures, and voltages, as well as set up warnings if they're too high or too low. Like I said, the only weird part is the angled IDE ports, but that all depends...

More Bang for your Buck

Strengths: Cheap, easy to configure, all necessary drivers placed on one CD

Weakness: I can't find half of the digital display codes in the manual, and i couldn't find any of the screws that attatch it to my case.

I bought this board for around $75 (after rebate) from newegg. It was very compatible with my other hardware, specifically my Geforce 6800, and slightly out-dated DDR 333 single channel memory. The included CD has all of the drivers you need to get started, so you can do pretty much everything before you even access the web, on reformat. Paired with my Athlon 64 3200+ Venice, it boots into...

Seen better, had better, theres something BETTER!

Strengths: The digital error code is really cool, the board needs it :|

Weakness: When you use up all 4 DIMM slots it downclocks the RAM, I have 4 sticks that should be running at 400mhz instead they run at 333, any attempt to change any RAM settings results in a crash. cont...

...The OCGuru software, atleast with this board is pretty worthless taking the settings off of anything but default result in a crash. To sum it all up...this board is OK, I wouldnt have a hard time giving it away...

very cost effective

Strengths: does not require an additional sound card. very flexible design with extremely well written manual. First time high end builders best chioce. I use this with 4 or 5 chassis fans. build & enjoy.

Weakness: be careful of the size when choosing your chassis.

The AMD Processor Speed and two 512MB will please all internet users and gamers. It works without problems. The fans may be excessive but the addition 4 Fans are cheap insurance when you compare the cost of the processor. Hidden Plus is 6 active USB ports. Most folks don't need this many but better to have then to want.
