Quality sata dvd burner.Strengths: so far no coaster as in burning dvd or cd's. Weakness: none. My new Asus's P5B deluxe/wifi motherboard is having problem with IDE dvd burners. So i bought the Liteon sata burner to replace the IDE one. The problem of the Asus's board having is that it isn't compatible with ordinary IDE burner. Lite-On SH-16A7S Dual Layer DVD±RW DriveStrengths: SATA. Weakness: None really. No Molex connection only SATA power connection. Finally a cheap SATA DVD drive. For all those new Intel 965 motherboards with only one IDE connection. No need to set master and slave jumper anymore. No Molex connection only SATA power connection. Quick and cheap.

Good Price For A SATA Burner; Poor Performance For A...
Strengths: Affordable price; Includes extra bezel (to choose between Black or white); Quick Guide/User Manual very simple & easy to use/understand; Fast SATA Burning Tech.
Weakness: Included Nero 7 Software CD was incompatible with Windows Vista. Also, after only a couple month's use, the SATA power connector broke on me, so now it's being replaced via Warranty.
I'd say if you have a lower-end system, with Windows XP or earlier pre-Vista, this product should do you just fine. However, if you have a system with a Vista OS of any kind, I'd recommend getting something else besides this one, perhaps a later version by Lite-On.
