POWER AND UMPH!

Strengths: EASY TO SET UP, GREAT PRICE TO QUALITY RATIO, LOTS OF POWER, AMAZING GRAPHICS

Weakness: THE THING IS HUGE, I HAD TROUBLE MAKING ROOM FOR IT, AND OVER HEATS TOO FAST.

GOT THIS VIDEO CARD TO PLAY GAMES WHILE WORKING, AND WATCHING MOVIES ON MY DUAL SCREEN. WORKS PERFECTLY, NO MORE CHOPPYNESS, AND NO MORE SLOW DOWNS. BUT AGAIN IT OVER HEATS SO I HAD TO INSTALL ADDITIONAL FANS.

Great Card for the Price

Strengths: Powerful, very tweakable and overclockable, great deal

Weakness: The slightly more expensive SuperClocked version (not this one) is already overclocked by eVGA, complete with warranty coverage.

This is a great card for the price. I upgraded from an overclocked 6800GT and this one simply wipes the floor with the 6800GT. I've been able to overclock the GPU and memory pretty high without destabilizing it. It chews up and spits out (technically speaking) any game I've thrown at it. Great job, nVidia, and great deal, eVGA!

Fast Quality Card - Vista and Game ready

Strengths: Low Price Standard Nvidia chip design Drivers easily available Quiet Fan

Weakness: None

I just upgraded and the change is really dramatic as I usually wait a few generations between changes. The EVGA 8800 GTS installed without problems in my Antec P182 case and Asus P5k Deluxe MB, no fit problems at all. A fresh Vista install caused no problems, drivers are loaded and at the first Vista update online the Nvidia drivers are downloaded and installed. I did select them alone under...

An 8800-series card that is powerful and affordable.

Strengths: Performance, recent (June '07) price drops make it attractive, overclocking potential.

Weakness: Two-slot design, sometime wish there was a bit more video memory onboard.

I own a number of EVGA's 8800-series cards and have been absolutely please with all of them, and now that prices are coming down that formula is still holding up. It is very similar to the 640MB version ofthe 8800GTS, with of course only half the video ram (which makes it unable to run 8xAA at 1920x1200 or 16x at 1280x720 resolution, both of which the 640MB version of the card can do). However,...

Super fast, runs great

Strengths: super fast.

Weakness: Huge!!!

This is a sweet card. Stacked this card on a C2D E7200, Evga 650i, 4 gigs of Crucial ddr2 800, 500gig wd se16. This thing puts off a lot of heat but easy to control with a nice case. Runs bf2142 all high with no problems. Please note this card is huge, make sure your case/motherboard is compatible.

evga 8800gts

Strengths: Great power. Great price/performance ratio

Weakness: lots of heat and uses a lot of power

Great upgrade from 8600gts. This thing is totally worth it. 320mb won't matter unless your resolution gaming is with a 30 inch screen or bigger. The video card is huge though. Prepare to have a big case. My Antec Solo case barely fits it. I had to put one of the hard drives in a lower bracket.

Good entry level graphics card for DirectX 10 games

Strengths: DirectX 10 support, 320-bit memory speed, solid performer, good value (see notes)

Weakness: Not enough memory for latest games, not PCI Express 2.0 compliant

Recent games (2007 or later) and especially those that support Vista and DirectX 10 have marked a turning point in what to look for in a card. In other words, a couple of years ago it made sense to opt for a 128MB 256-bit card over a 256MB 128-bit card, for example. Things have changed. It now makes sense to opt for a 512MB 256-bit such as the 8800 GT over a 320MB 320-bit card such as this 8800...

Great high-performance video card

Strengths: eVGA quality; dual-slot cooling; lifetime warranty

Weakness: Last generation; no HD video decoding

I was upgrading my computer from XP to Vista, so wanted a DX10 capable card. I had a 7800GT, so this was the next best step. Note that this is a 1-year old card, as it has the G80 nVidia chipset. It's a slower performer than the G92 nVidia chipset used in the current 8800GTS cards. It also will *not* offloading of HD video decoding. But I don't game alot, not is it setup for HDTV viewing, so it...

Great upgrade from ATI x1650

Strengths: Cheep(

Weakness: 320mb, no oc from factory

It is great card and awesome upgrade from ATI X1650. Runs fast, receive 5.9 rate from vista. tried ATI tool to overclock and had about 6% gain. Best buy for budget less than $100.

Cheap video card with high performance, worth to buy.

Strengths: Cheap video card with G80 GPU(8800GTS 320), although it is not good as G92, but it still worth while to buy

Weakness: Not designed for OC. EVGA usually do not provide software to overclock its card. And only with 320M memory.

1.If EVGA provide software to overclock its card, that's will be more comfortable to use the card 2.Not sold with SLI cable although it is a high level video card. 3.No free game with it.

Nvidia GeForce 8800 GTS | 320 MB

The GeForce 8800 GTS is an upper-tier model in Nvidias 8 series of mid-range, consumer desktop graphics cards. The SLI-ready 8800 GTS is available with 320, 512 or 640 MB of memory. With DirectX 10 support, even the 320MB GeForce 8800 GTS should run most of 2009s mainstream PC games with ease, although perhaps not at the highest detail settings, while the 640MB model would be more suited to...

GeForce 8800 GTS 320MB review

While these new affordable graphics cards are going to be very attractive, it is still hard to ignore the value currently offered by the 320MB version of the GeForce 8800 GTS, which can be had for just $300. At least on paper, we can already tell this new offering is a good value as it features everything found on the original 8800 GTS with just half the memory, and a 33% lower price tag.
