ATI Radeon X800 XL Video Card

This is a great card!

Strengths: A great card for the price. PCI, 256MB.

Weakness: None

This is my first PCI card. I bought this one because of the features for the price. It's a great mid-range card. It has all the features of the top of the line, but at a fraction of the cost. This card replaced my PNY GeForce 6600GT (AGP). I am very happy with this card and would recommend this to anyone.

The X800 XL is a fantastic value...

The X800 XL is a fantastic value for the money. Here are the main differences between the various X800 cards:

Radeon X800 - 12 pixel pipelines, 400mhz core, 700mhz memory, 128-bit memory interface
Radeon X800 XL - 16 pixel pipelines, 400mhz core, 1000mhz memory, 256-bit memory interface
Radeon X800 XT - 16 pixel pipelines, 500mhz core, 1000mhz memory, 256-bit memory interface
Radeon X850 XT - 16 pixel pipelines, 520mhz core, 1080mhz memory, 256-bit memory interface

The X800 is priced at $200, the X800 XL at $300, the X800 XT at $400, and the X850 XT at $500.

The X800XL has the full 16 pixel pipelines and 256-bit memory interface that the top-of-the-line X800 XT/X850 XT have. The only difference is roughly 100mhz on the core, and 80mhz on the memory. The X850 XT is only 15% to 20% faster than the X800 XL, while costing almost 70% more.

The X800XL is also a bargain compared with its Nvidia counterparts. It is roughly as fast as the 6800GT, which costs almost $100 more. It is significantly faster than the 6800, which is in its price range.

The one downside to this card is the lack of PS3.0 compliance. This may be an issue in the future, though by the time it does become an issue, you'll probably have upgraded to a new card anyway.

Strengths: Price.

Excellent price on ATIs answer to the 6800GT. 16 pipelines. Hopefully will be able to run on ATIs Multirendering (SLI). Price/performance, this is the card that is tops.

Strengths: well if you are lookin for a great video card then this is it

Weakness: none unless ur going sli and want dual video cards then u better get gforce 6800 ultra video cards and a new sli mobo and 600 watt psu

dont let the ati 850 fool you they both are almost the same card gameing wise they is no diffrence but it's more of owning the 850 as to ownin a X800 XL lets see i have the X800 XL and my brother has the X850 we run the same rig so theres not much if any diffrence at all from our own test but he jus paid more and theres 1 other thing agp version vs pcie version of the 850's comes down to agp most...

so theres not much if any diffrence at all from our own test but he jus paid more
and theres 1 other thing agp version vs pcie version of the 850's comes down to
agp most likely wont be a factor in ati's sli race jus think of it like this
dont upgrade ur agp mobo or video card unless ur jumpin on ati's sli bandwagon
pcie will be used so u could use pcie video cards on the next waves of new upgrades comeing out
