great hard driver!
Strengths: price, performance

I replace my hard driver from travelstar 7k60 to the 5k100 100GB. I loved the performance of my original 7k60, except the loud, and vibration. After the 5k100 100GB release, I bought it for my thinkpad x31. The performace between 7k60 and 5k100 is notable, but the 5k100 is good enough for the common purpose, ex, surf Internet, email, or office document. I recommend the hard driver for those...

Crashed After 9 Months
Strengths: Worked fine for 9 months
Weakness: Worked fine for 9 months
I never had a hard drive crash before. This one died after 9 months. My first hard drive was 10 MB (that's right 10 MB) for an old IBM 8088. I was foolish in thinking hard drives are really really reliable. This Hitachi started clicking. Now it's not recognized by BIOS. I can access it for a short period of time when connected as a slave on Primary IDE channel. Spinrite could not halp. I'm now in...

Excellent Harddrive
Strengths: Faster than my stock hdd.
Weakness: None so far
Used this to replace a 5400 rpm drive (20GB) in my Dell Laptop... This drive seems much faster, and alot quieter than the stock drive. Transfers seem faster. Installation was simple (although it's the same with any hard drive). I'd definately recommend this drive for the price!

incompatibel with ibm/lenovo T43p thinkpads.
there will be stop in booting with "ERROR" 2010...
an escape is necessary for continuing.
ibm, uk, mails, there is no support provided.
the actual offer from hitachi with travelstar HTS7210G9AT00
runs without this fault.

Working Fine
Strengths: Runs quiet
Weakness: Came with no documentation
This drive runs quietly and smoothly. The one complaint I have so far is that it came with no paperwork or documentation, or any accessories, even basic ones like the jumper setting thing.
